A very necessary chart

This chart shows the number of food reviews per month that I post to this website.

List of Places to Try:

  1. Frank’s Pepe

Welcome to: Esh Mediterranean

Fairfield

A modern take on mediterranean food, with a “club-like” atmosphere and plenty of shareable items. ($$$)*

I visited my father and brother here over the past weekend. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time after hearing great things from a friend who had visited as well as seeing it in my email inbox as one of the top restaurants in CT. As I drove up to the address, I was surprised to see a car wash in lieu of the restaurant. Calling my father, we came to the conclusion that I had simply driven to the completely wrong place. Turns out Apple Maps did not update the new location of the restaurant so I ended up being slightly late to our rendezvous. Needless to say, let’s dive into the review.

Review:

Overall: 9.5/10

Interior: 9/10 - great design and environment to sit in

Food:

Esh flat bread with three dips: Hummus Tahini, Tzatziki, and Spicy feta [9/10]

Main: Black angus ribeye shawarma with side salad (pomegranate seeds, mix of greens) [10/10]

This was probably one of the best meals I have had in quite a while though the negative aspect was simply how expensive it was. Luckily I went to use the restroom when the bill came so it was up to the other’s at the table to settle the cost.

Pre Birthday Meal - Bartaco

West Hartford

On this lovely yet frigid evening, my best friend and I went out for a pre-bday dinner to West Hartford’s infamous Bartaco. This was not our first time so we knew the run down. Let’s jump into the review: (avg of both ratings)

Starters:

Plaintains: 8/10 pretty sticky

Chips and Guac: 10/10 a must get, very warm chips

Tacos:

Spiced chicken verde: 8.5/10, 9.5/10, fell apart, taco must stay intact

Tuna tatako: 9/10 delicious, slightly too much sauce

Mushroom: 9/10 consistency was good

Sesame ribeye: 8.5/10 very good just realized i’m not the biggest fan of kimchi

Dessert:

Churros + bday churros 7/10, 8/10 - differing thoughts on the chocolate sauce

Drinks:

Pomegranate limonada: 7/10 slightly too sweet
